Expectations for the teacher:
The physical education process starts and ends with the instructor. A P.E. teacher must be committed to being a physically fit and healthy individual and must always lead by example. The educator must never fail when it comes to being supportive to students of all interests and be open to all students' situations and needs. It is key to take a special interest in all students and give praise and encouragement whenever possible. The teacher must have a well rounded base of content and push himself to evolve with the ever changing world of physical, mental, spiritual, social and environmental health. Lastly and most important a teacher of any subject must possess the quality of integrity. A teacher must make every effort to make the right choice even when no one is looking.

Expectations and Rules
When it comes to formulating rules and expectations for my classroom, it is important to keep in mind a purpose statement which will guide the students through the rules and expectations. It is important to keep in mind the students should undestand that the same levels of expectations required in the regular education classroom follow them throughout the school and into the gym room. When developing the rules for the classroom we must be mindful of the target group, keeping the students and thier parents in mind when formulating a list of expectations and rules. It is also very important to formulate expectations and rules than are not too easy or to difficult for the students to follow, but to formulate rules andexpectations that will drive the students to be successful not only in my classroom but in future experiences as well. Lee Canter is credited with the development of assertive discipline in the classroom and is someone I reference to when developing my own ideas and expectations for behavior management in the classroom.
